The Creating Confidence Program is an initiative of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in conjunction with the Confident Girls Foundation and the Caboolture Netball Association.

The program introduces children to sport who, due to circumstances in the family home, would not normally have the opportunity to participate. Through sport, children can develop resilience, positive behaviours and attitudes that can influence them in adolescence and adult life. Sport can assist in developing new skills and values including teamwork, utilising strengths and provide a chance to meet new people, both in the sporting arena and the community.

Sport provides safe places for children, young people and their communities to come together and build confidence, empowerment, leadership, acceptance and a sense of belonging.

The program is also designed to provide education to empower our young people to have healthy relationships with their coaches, peers, parents, teachers and partners. We are here to provide a partnership and offer support services to our community through sport and the QPS.

This program is in its second year at the Caboolture Netball Association. We are hopeful that this will be spread across various sports in the community in 2020.
